Today, Microsoft released MS11-100 to protect customers against the industry-wide issue described in Security Advisory 2659883. The security update resolves a publicly disclosed, remote unauthenticated Denial of Service issue in ASP.NET versions 1.1 and above, on all supported versions of the .NET Framework.
Microsoft is currently unaware of any attacks targeting ASP.NET, but they encourage affected customers to test and deploy the update as soon as possible. Consumers are not vulnerable unless they are running a Web server from their computer.
In addition, Microsoft will host a web-cast to address customer questions on this bulletin:

Well, chances are, if you have to ask, then this yearly process doesn’t rest on your shoulders. But just so that you can commiserate with the accountant(s) in your office: BusinessDictionary.com defines year-end closing as, “An accounting procedure undertaken at the end of the year to close out business from the previous year, carry forward balances from the previous year, and open posting accounts for the upcoming year. Year-end closing is part of a company’s closing operations, and is used to create a company’s financial statements.”
