So where should a newcomer start in today’s market? According to an article from Microsoft Dynamics World, experts Microsoft and in the Dynamics partner channel tend to agree that first steps toward basic BI and reporting experience should begin with an effort to use the data reporting tools of the Microsoft stack.

The Async Operations Table stores completed workflow history. It can become very large, impacting performance and ability to upgrade. Routine cleanup and CRM 2011 auto remove workflow history is recommended.
CRM 2011 async operations table can still become large if you don’t have the flag enabled to delete workflow history. The good news is the CRM 4.0 Async Cleanup scripts still work. They are available at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968520
Make sure you: 1) run the script that creates 3 indexes to speed up the process first, 2) then execute the first script in the KB Article. The difference is HUGE and saves hours.
CRM 2011 also introduced a feature that will automatically remove the workflow from history, just by setting the flag under administration on the actual workflow. For additional comments from the Microsoft Community, visit this website
Help is just an email away if you need assistance with this or any other maintenance item.

If your Dynamics product is nearing the end of its life cycle, it’s time to start planning for the implementation of a later release. Microsoft continues to release new product innovation on a regular basis, therefore phasing out older versions of their products. Microsoft Support expiration dates for the following products are provided below:
Maintenance for Dynamics GP 10.0 expires 10/9/2012
Maintenance for Dynamics CRM 4.0 expires 4/9/2013
Maintenance for Dynamics SL 7.0 expires 10/9/2012
It’s critically important that you stay on Microsoft-supported versions of your core business systems. Advantages are two-fold: one, you will be ensuring the continuity of your business, and two, you will be able to take advantage of the updates Microsoft continually provides for their products. For example, Dynamics GP clients who will need new 2013 tax table updates can only receive them if they are on a supported product version.
LBMC Technologies is offering a free Dynamics upgrade assessment to any client interested in upgrading to GP 2010, CRM 2011, or SL 2011. Call Kenneth Sims at 615-309-2473 to schedule your free assessment.
Please keep in mind that Microsoft changed its Annual Maintenance policies in 2011. Microsoft no longer extends a grace period for the payment of your Annual Maintenance. Late renewals lose their Protected List Price (PLP) and are subject to a 3% penalty fee per day. The PLP is used to calculate your maintenance fees depending on the plan you are purchasing. See the matrix for the current Dynamics GP and SL maintenance plans available for client purchase.
If you lose your PLP the cost of your maintenance could increase dramatically. You should expect an email and an invoice 90 days before your maintenance plan ends in order to avoid any late fees and to ensure that we receive your payment well before your due date.
